Russ executes the 'smack down' on the bass, which makes your Soul
skip a beat. The guitar was his first instrument, being introduced to it at the early age of six. Later on he made the switch to bass, after being captivated by the bass notes coming from a friend's kick-butt stereo; and a Bass Player was born. The early years of playing Soul, Beach, and R & B, gave Russ the rudiments that are essential for the funky, soulful sound, that is the backbone in this genre of music.
